I am thrilled to disclose the comprehensive thought processes behind my work at Momentum Chiropractic, as Dr. Preston Gregory granted me full creative freedom for this project.
Walking into his office, I was immediately captivated by its sleek and modern ambiance. It was the perfect canvas for me to enhance its elegance even further.
Our journey began in the main waiting room, where I envisioned something truly unique and thought-provoking. I decided to incorporate a set of skeletons, each one seemingly admiring the other. This powerful symbolism represents the significance of supporting others in order to foster personal growth.
As I meticulously arranged the vines, I made sure they never touched from one skeleton to another. This deliberate choice conveys the importance of trusting oneself and staying true to one's own path.
However, there is another fascinating interpretation that can be drawn. One could perceive it as a single skeleton gazing into a mirror, with the varying heights of the vines representing one's past and the other one’s future. It's a profound reminder of the journey we all embark on, constantly evolving and shaping our destinies.
As we progress through the project, we come across the first of two private office rooms. Dr. Gregory's practice focuses on the atlas bone, so I jumped at the idea of painting a traditional concept of Atlas from Greek mythology. He is often depicted carrying the universe on his back, symbolizing the immense power of the human mind, as the atlas bone rests atop the spine, allowing the head to be held high.
Moving on to the next private room, I continued the theme of growth by painting the goddess of health, Hygieia, with her vines reaching out onto multiple walls and onto the door trim in search of more. It beautifully represents the never-ending pursuit of well-being and vitality.
Finally, in Dr. Gregory's office, I drew inspiration from Michelangelo's painting on the Sistine Chapel ceiling. The creation of Adam, with the hands almost touching, representing the initial spark of man and the origin of the human mind.
When examining the complete depiction of Adam and God in Michelangelo's painting, the composition resembles the structure of the human brain, effectively providing unique perspective on the project as a whole.
Dr. Gregory's trust in my vision allowed me to create a space that not only exudes elegance but also sparks contemplation and introspection.
