Ava Laurenne Collaboration (2024, Greenville)

Ava Laurenne Collaboration (2024, Greenville SC)

The Ava Laurenne project began as a large-scale mural commission designed to connect the elegance of the wedding venue with the cultural identity of Greenville, South Carolina. The composition centered around a vintage train surrounded by florals, symbolizing journey, romance, and place.

Embedded within the mural are three miniature paintings, each measuring only two inches in size: Girl with a Pearl Earring, Starry Night, and The Goldfinch. These hidden details invite viewers to slow down and discover layers of art history woven into the larger narrative.

Following Hurricane Helene in September 2024, the collaboration evolved into a broader community event supporting artists affected by the storm. During a red-carpet runway show hosted at Ava Laurenne in November, Johni Bleu created a live hand-painted gown and spoke about the year-long project, reflecting on how art, fashion, and community intersected through the collaboration.
